Oemleria cerasiformis

California—North Coast Ranges. Humboldt Co.: Old Hwy along west side of Hwy 101 between Loleta and Fortuna; 40º37'31.9", 124º13.10.5", 25 m.  Secondary growth in redwood forest region, west side road on steep bank; also collected near Carlotta east of Hwy 101, south of Fortuna.  Arborescent shrub with several to many stems from base, to 5 m or more; fruits green, turning orange red and then bluish black. Occasional along edge of secondary growth forest, especially along roads and fences.  Samples of woody stem with bark removed (ws), stem-bark (sb), twig-leaf (tw-lf) and fruit (fr).
